This course provides a sound understanding of IBM's MQ messaging system, at both a conceptual and terminological level, and is essential for all personnel who will be working in a IBM MQ environment.
Knowledge of one or more IT Applications environments
This course is designed for personnel who will be developing and/or supporting IBM MQ applications. The course is an intensive, practical, 'hands-on' workshop in COBOL in a z/OS environment
Experience of writing and/or supporting applications programs. Attendees will also need to have a sound grasp of the fundamentals of IBM MQ, which can be gained by prior attendance on the course Technical Introduction to IBM MQ [MQS1]
The first day of this course provides delegates with a sound understanding of IBM’s IBM MQSeries messaging system. The following three days are a practical workshop, where attendees may choose to practice the MQ API using either a z/OS platform, programming in COBOL.
Attendees should have the appropriate skills in the language & programming environment to be used for writing & deploying IBM MQ applications
This newly enhanced three-day course covers the operation, administration and support of IBM MQ systems and applications in a z/OS environment. Segments on debugging techniques, RACF-based security and SSL are also covered
Attendees must be familiar with IBM MQ at a conceptual and terminological level. This can be achieved by attending the course Technical Introduction to IBM MQ [MQS1], or through prior practical experience. Attendees must also have a working knowledge of TSO/ISPF, JCL and conceptual-level knowledge of the z/OS computing environment
